Telling the truth can be hard at times and doing the right thing can be even harder so it really depends on how you confront situations. You can tell that Lincoln is trustworthy in his actions and he only wants the best in people so he guides them through the way. Being a helpful and truthful person will certainly get you somewhere in life, while those others that don't obey the rules will suffer from the ramifications. I do actually agree with him in this quote
